Concrete wins over hardwood
The Coney Island Boardwalk is walking its last mile. The fine hardwood from the rain forest in Amazon is so rare, that the city will replace the old board with concrete. "We have tried to experiment with North American hardwoods", officials say. "But it is not durable". The hardwood from Amazon is perfect for the boardwalk, but the resources are being depleted and enviromental groups is forcing the city to let go of the Amazon hardwood.
